I don't like it. I want to see more bird (at least like the first one). Too much dead space and too little bird. I want more bird!

It's a head and shoulders portrait :P! I'll snap a few whole bird shots in the coming days.

Where is your forum thread with photos of Santina?

I would love to! Five years ago I lost most of my camera equipment to theft while in a huge transition in my life (and a few months lapse on insurance, perfect timing right?) and I've been trying recover it since. Emmi has taken up that fund in the last year. Not complaining...much! Lol

Fun to see some photographic discussions here as well :). It's lately become my second big interest, after parrots.

Here's the exif data for both shots:
Focal length: 35mm
Shutter speed: 1/125s
Apperture: 3.5
Iso: 400

This is shot with a 35mm prime and a "custom made" bounce flash (really a DIY reflector for the flash, bouncing it up and backwards) on a Sony Nex 5R.

Both photos are processed in Lightroom 5!

I am sorry, not nice at all :(! Maybe you can pick up a used older model of the same make as your current camera?

Oh I'm surprised you got that kind of compression and look with a 35mm. I was guessing at least an 80.

The SAL3518 is a really great lens, very sharp and my go to lens for indoors photos since I bought it a while back!
With a crop sensor (APS-C) you get an fullframe eqv. focal length 52,5mm, so its a nice normal lens :) (which you probably already knew though).

A recent portrait of Leroy, he was posing so nicely infront of a painting we have on the wall, so I got the framing for free ^^.
