Are you ready?

Postby KimberlyAnn » Sun Jan 12, 2014 12:52 am

I know millions of pet birds say new things every day, but it's so special when it's your own.

I had such a bad day today and by the end of it, I was just glad to take a shower and cuddle up in a blanket on the couch. Emmi likes to sit on a towel over the shower door and preen in the steam when we take our showers. Especially on cold days. So like we do every night, I take her in the bedroom while I got my shower stuff and went to pick her up off the bedroom perch. Before I could get the words out of my mouth, Emmi turned towards the bathroom and asked perfectly clear, "Are you ready?" This is something I always say to her before a shower. Made my day! :)

Last week, she said, "TAKE A BATH! TAKE A BAAAAAATH!" when first jumping in the sink for her shower. Big talking month I guess. We are now up to 11 phrases, several different sound effects, and one song she made up where she just says her name lol...Go Emmi!

Yes, it's very special - and GCC's have the cutest raspy voices, don't they?

They totally do! We always wonder if she can say other things, we just can't understand her. But she's very vocal anyway. Someday I will catch her on video! She freezes the second I raise my phone.

Yes, you have to pay a lot of attention and have no noise in the background because their voices are not only incredibly cute and raspy, they tend to talk softly.
