Lazy afternoon with Emmi (Pictures/video)

Just a few pictures before bath time. Excuse her nails. I missed her apt this weekend because of the flu.

And the best part...We are growing flight feathers! She's molting. I think because we have been having very strange weather and I've had the windows open daily. It's like spring here. All the wild birds are nesting and so are the squirrels. The trees have been blooming since mid Jan. Bad news really as we are very short of water in California and lots of crops will die when we feel the cold winter winds again.

But just look at that new flight feather coming in! I've counted 5 so far. Three on one wing and two on the other, that I can see.



I also got a few videos. I tried to hide the phone in my sleeve...she won't perform if she sees the phone. Snapping didn't even work this time! I caught her noticing the music at least.

I was editing photos and here comes Emmi. I turned on a song that's been her favorite for two days. She changed it to something else by walking on the touch pad and had to tell me about it because I'm at fault...of course. Not a big "Emmi Fit," but the beak tapping will show you she's very very mad and serious!

Well, I missed the first part of the fit so it's a little out of context. Lol Could not hit record fast enough. This is what was left over. She's not saying any English words, but she's trying to tell me to FIX THIS! She will go on and on and on about it, hitting her beak down to make her point and then look at you to see if you will do anything about it. She will throw her fit until whatever is fixed to her liking or she forgets.

But it's just GCC gibberish to me. It's the only time she makes these sounds. Dusk and dawn are spent practising English.
