:jenday: Tat's great news. Now you say you won't start college for two years. Well by joining this forum you have just started the college of parrot keeping. You say you have had bird before, that's great, you are about to start the advanced studies, with the rest of us new parrot owners. And Professor Pajarita will be holding class. LOL I have been on this forum for about 4 months and I can say if Professor P. says it is going to happen it will. If Professor P says do this, you need to at least try it. I will say 99% of the time Professor P knows what she is talking about.( sorry Professor I just can't give you 100%) LOL. I have a GCC and I can tell you he is about close to 5 months old now and he is demanding very demanding. When I first got him it was great and the time I spent with him was fun. I also have a Jenday conure, so my time is divided between the two. But you will find that the more time you spend with your little one the more he will want. LOL As for getting nippy, he/she may be small but they have a grab that hurts like &%$#. If I am holding the Amos my jenday, Andy my GCC will watch me and when I go to pick him up he will grab my hand and keep grabbing my hand till he finds the softest spot on my hand and let me know that he is not happy with me. I hope it works out since you do have two years before college it will give you time to work, and have fun with your little guy. So have fun and we want to see pictures. :gcc: :jenday:

LOL - Sweetie, if I was anywhere near 99%, I would consider myself the foremost authority on pet parrots but, unfortunately and although I thank you kindly for the vote of confidence, nobody is. We just don't know enough about them. And, there are soooooo many different species that it's impossible for any one person to know all the different quirks of all the different species (one would have to have a small flock of not less than 16 birds for many years to learn enough about one single species and even then it would not be 100%, either). But GCCs are fairly easy because everybody tells you the same thing: all they want in life is to spend their days on people and, if they don't get it, they bite you! Straight forward little darlings, they are! But easy to please if you have the time for them.
