They make many different 'mouth' noises, clicking is just one of them and they make it when they are mad. Happy noises are purring, clucking, grinding the beak, etc but they also imitate sounds so, sometimes, the noise we hear is not a natural vocalization but something they picked up and just happen to like (I have one that does the ringing of a cell phone and another one that thinks the 'food is ready' beeping of a microwave is the best noise ever ).
