Im sorry to hear of your loss. It doesnt sound like you could have done anything go prevent it.

Maybe he fell off of something and hit his head on the way down? This is very sad to hear. Sorry for your loss... :cry: Poor little guy. R.I.P

Maybe he flew into the corner of a cage? Ceiling fan? Sorry for your loss.

Pajarita, I am so sorry. Even a doo doo head leaves a gap.

You may be looking for the easy reason.
Amy the cockatiel used to dance when Curly sang. While dancing one day she dropped dead and landed on her back at the bottom of the cage. All we could think of was a heart attack.

Yes, they do drop dead in a split second. Once, about 7 or 8 years ago, I was cleaning the flight cage where the handicapped tiels were housed and one of the healthy ones was perched o a branch that I had tucked on top of it, right in front of my face, and I was thinking how very beautiful he looked when, right then and there, he dropped like a stone to the floor! It was absolutely surreal! I couldn't believe this bird could be dead just like that... it had never happened to me before and it has not since (thank goodness for that because it was a real bad shock).
