Its pretty much the same sound as if you took your finger and while blowing air out wiggled your finger in the air stream.

I am home-schooled and am teaching a class at my co-op about birds. I am going to be teaching about proper feeding and housing of birds, the time and love they need and flighted vs clipped wings. For this I am taking Blu and Connor so I can show some of Connors tricks and Blu's flight skills. The only thing I am worried about is that the kids I am teaching are right at that age where the boys are very rambunctious and I don't want them hurting the birds or the birds to hurt them. Connor does not like people besides me and will bite them pretty hard. He has bitten me pretty good a few times and I am worried that the boys (two in particular) are going to be sticking there fingers near him and teasing him and then have him bite them  . I am also wondering if I should take Blu's cage and Connors clear carrier or the clear carrier and my other carrier which is like a soft sided cat carrier. The only thing is it will be a pain to get Blu into the carrier once he is out. I'm gonna get Connor a flight suit this weekend so he can at least ride on my shoulder or sit on the carriers top perch. Any other suggestions as to additional topics I should teach are greatly appreciated :D :)

I also made Connor a new Foot/foraging toy. I took 2 pop bottle tops and craft sticks and made bars and then glued them to the caps with gaps in between and then stuck paper strips into the toy.

Myrtle is into bottle caps. She watches when some one takes a lid off and then asks for it with her regular "Myrtle?"

Well, for one thing, it will take days if not weeks (or months!) to get Connor used to his harness. For another, this will be highly stressing to them (unfamiliar place, unfamiliar people, unfamiliar housing, change in routine, etc). I used to give chats at schools and bring a few birds with me but stopped doing it when I saw how stressed out they got so think about this very carefully because it won't benefit your birds in any way.

I unfortunately couldn't find a harness when I was out of town but I got him some new rope and pumice perches, a new bird bath and a tent. I wont take Blu but I will have to think about Connor more.

Well, if you do take Connor and it is without a harness, please don't take him out of his cage. He could panic and either fly away or crash against something...
