Harley and Marley were happy little tweeters when I had them. I could even hear their chatter above the singing of the cockatiels. I can only imagine how happy they are now. I would love to see a video.
Thank you again for taking them.

Marley is very happily sitting on her two eggs, she had three but one got pushed out of the nest and broke. Harley is happily running back and forth feeding her. Harley's beak is once again at such a length that I am going to have to catch him soon and trim it again, it is not the high point of his day.

No, they certainly don't like it but there is no help for it. All this exercise and excitement is good for him and his liver - and let's not even go into how ecstatic little Marley must be!

Got some strawberries yesterday and today chopped one up very fine for the budgies and for the first time they actually tried them and in just a few minutes we went from not touching them for months to two budgies squabbling over whose piece of strawberry belonged to who. They are so funny.

That's great! I can't get my budgies to eat any fruit except a bit of apple and pomegranate seeds.

Back on the 21st, I was noticing Harley's beak was getting close to needing to be trimmed again. I figured it would be about a week before I had to do it, but still have not trimmed it as for the first time it seems to be slowing down and holding its own. It is still just a little too long, but it is not interfering with him so I am waiting and watching. I am hoping that I won't have to trim it again, at least for a while longer.

I was reminded to post this about Harley's beak because I just finished looking them over thoroughly which I try to do at least twice each day or more. They had watermelon for the past couple of days as a friend brought one over that they let get a little too ripe for them. I have been giving a little bit of it every couple of days. The budgies are definitely not a big fan of watermelon, but they did nibble a little of it. Kookooloo and Kiki like watermelon and strawberries.

I bought Myrtle a cocoanut still in the hull. With a knife I started a place to start her working on it. She still gets into trouble from time to time but has really shredded the cocoanut. It might work with Harley to ware his beak down.
