(Video) After 1 Month with My CAG - She is Trying to speak?

Postby tumaykilinc » Thu Dec 11, 2014 11:08 am

I adopted her 1 month ago, she was on a seed diet. Now she eats most of the fruits and dried fruits, and seeds as a treat. I try my best to keep her healthy.

She started making these sounds 4 days ago, and she does it everyday now. I think she is happy now!

That is so cute.

I have never been in a parrot flock so I really don't know but it sounds like and "I'm content" noise to me.

It definitely sounds like an attempt to speak to me. I think I heard hello and I love you and then a couple of things that I couldn't understand. Do you say these things to her often?

Sorry but I only heard parrot sounds, nothing that resembles human speech. What I did notice was that the cage is too small, too low and that it has only manzanita perches which are all pretty even when it comes to their diameters, any possibility of improving that?

@Pajarita
She only gets in the cage when she wants to eat, other than that she is free all the time. She walks around the house, tries to climb on things, watch the mirrors and then goes back to her cage. She climbs down and up, that's why the cage is low. Else she tries to jump and i am worried that she will hurt herself.

She mimicks my whistles and kissing sounds today, and keeps flapping her wings when i am outside the room.

That is so funny. Rambo and Myrtle just use their cage to hold their stuff. Personalities really become visible when they have that kind of freedom. Mine are so social and family oriented that we think of them as little green kids.
