Box spring den

Postby DanaandPod » Mon Dec 29, 2014 2:15 pm

I finally had the courage and desire to look under my bed to see what the animals are attracted to. Both my parrot and my duarf rabbit have been completely attracted to something under there. I thought that it was this box that I left under there on purpose for their occupation. (now a chewed pile of mess) But, as of late...I have been hearing a different kind of noise. So, with flashlight in hand...and after a retrieved bitten finger....my parrot emerged from a hole in the underside of my bed box spring. OMG! The thought of rabbit pellets in there.... :( Does this mean I will collapse one night in my sleep from a chewed infrastructure? No wonder why Pod sounds as if he is lost in an abyss when he scurries under my bed...whistling back to me in what sounds like deep caverns... I don't even know the dynamics of the insides of a box spring. Is this potentially dangerous to a parrot?

I looked it up on youtube and it is a bunch of wires inside it. Odd that he would like that mess of a contraption.

It is dark and it is protected from prying eyes and appears to be a good nesting hole to him. Since they nest in holes it seems perfectly natural that he would see it this way, to me.
