Hind sight is 20 20.
I told my sister that she could not have her budgie back. There have been times I told others that they can't have a pet.
You were just too polite to tell them what you thought of them.
Like Wolf, I have taken pets back.
I have taken pets away from people who were not treating them right.
I called a landlord to inform the new neighbors that they better put a dog house in a dog lot while it was a cold rain on their dogs. That was the easiest one. The owner showed up within an hour with a dogloo.
I am Rambo's 3rd human. The second one stole him from the first when he was not getting the care he should have had. After 11 years of marriage she got pregnant and was going to sell him. I knew nothing about Amazons but did know that he was his own being and should not be sold like an unwanted piece of furniture.
Pretty Boy legally belonged to them, but legal doesn't count when you are talking about a little critter.
I am so sorry for your loss and understand how bad your feel. We all know you did not want to give him back. I really really hate knowing he is no longer with us.
Please everyone, toughen up and protect these little guys even if it is illegal.

This just broke my heart :'( My love and thoughts are with you and Pretty Boy.

If I say anymore, I'll probably cry.

Dear sweet pea, you were (and still very much) loved. xx

Thank you, guys! I really appreciate your sentiments and, most of all, the fact that only bird people understand how this would affect me.

And now it got worse. I got a card from the daughter and husband of the old man who owned Pretty Boy (the ones who asked me to take care of him) and, apparently, they just realized that he is not only an alcoholic but that he is also addicted to pain killers! Poor, poor baby!
