Rescue parrots stolen!!!

Postby Pajarita » Wed Feb 25, 2015 10:24 am

Geez, I hope they catch the guys that did it before they can sell the birds! But I also wonder why it was so easy for them to take such large number of birds without anybody even noticing... Don't they have somebody there during the night? Because the macaws must have screamed bloody murder...

Can you just do me a favor and revise your title with some more detail. My heart almost jumped when I read the subject and thought your own birds were stolen. Not that this isn't a terrible story of a rescue that had it happen, but the gut reaction is that it's more personal.

I hope they get the birds back. It's kind of stupid to steal birds. Rescues are full of them and practically giving them away as it is. Hardly worth the money or effort. The retail prices of babies don't carry over to older birds.

Based on the pictures that were shown this place is set up as individual units in the woods, well away from each other and human habitation with easy access to each aviary. It is well set up for theft. But it also appears that the likely culprits were familiar with the setup of this place.

Sorry about that! I changed the name of the thread. But no need to worry about my parrots getting stolen because, if it happened, I would be either in the hospital or dead and wouldn't be able to post about it :D
