I forgot to put this one up before so it's a little bit dated but still current. All I can say is that I simply do NOT understand people... why would anybody do such a thing?!

Given that this person is shooting parrots, not game birds, it makes no sense and should be prosecuted by law. This act is further compounded by the fact that this person does not even have the courtesy of making a clean kill or tracking it down to finish the kill. This should be further prosecuted as animal cruelty. I could understand taking one for food, then you know that they are not good eating, from that point their is no further valid reason to bother these birds much less shoot them.

Problem is, Wolf, non-native species are usually not protected by the law.

I know. That is our stupidity ( our law makers). Our loss. Vigilantism might do the trick.

I am an avid hunter my self but I dont think I could shot a parrot. Now if they are causing harm to the native species then I could understand but I dont know if these are harming anything

I am also a hunter and from the article and the posts following it these birds are in town or at least the suburbs and the only damage attributed to them is stealing figs from a back yard.

Depending on the amazon, who's to say it's not native? Parrots do relocate as conditions and lifestyle change. 1000 years ago, an amazon in California was probably as natural as salt in the sea water.
