All you can do about the chewing is to give them their own stuff to chew. I just bought Myrtle two wooden spoons. One is almost gone.

You have to block the landing pad on the top of your head with an open hand and fingers spread. Eventually they catch on and land on your shoulders.

I don't have any recommendations. None that I know for a fact will work... Oh, people will say "Do this" "Do that" but the truth is that parrots chew stuff they are not supposed to, poop everywhere and will land where they like it best. It's the way it is with parrots and, after 23 years of living with them, it has become a part of my life so it doesn't really bother me anymore.

You know, the laundry room is a real bad place for birds because, even if you can maintain a steady temperature and humidity (almost impossible!), you always have to worry about the fumes released by the heat and the dryer sheets or clothes softeners.

I had to hang towels on all my cabinet doors during breeding season to discourage Corsair gnawing corners. She lands on the towels and chews holes in them, unless her weight unbalances them and they fall, causing some squawking. A blanket covers the corners on the couch unless other family members move it.

Now that breeding season is over, she is slightly less fixated on chewing. Best of luck to you finding your own solutions!
