Captivity heartbreak

Postby Pajarita » Fri May 15, 2015 12:41 pm

When I saw this, I immediately remember the argument we had had about enacting stricter laws for bird keeping because we need to think of ALL the birds out there and not just our own.

I read this article before it was included in this post and did not respond as It is just too heartbreaking for me. Today I came across another article that I thought sould belong here with the first one and I believe it is by the editor of the paper that printed the first article.

And EVERYTHING said on it is 100% true! But people are either completely ignorant of the reality of the terrible life they have in captivity or insist their bird is the exception to the rule... but none is, they all suffer - some more and some less but, at the end, if you are honest about the issue, you know deep inside that it's every single last one of them from the budgies to the hys.

I do agree and it is why I am here, to try and help the birds to have a better life. I know that it doesn't come close to what they should have and really need but it is the best that I can do.
