IMO Cocoa

Postby Erithacus » Sat May 23, 2015 2:21 am

I lost Cocoa to a fungal infection early last year. Even though she was gone but her spirit still lives in me. I have lost most of her videos. Yesterday I managed to find some in a thumb drive and I made a video in memory of her.

It made me realized she wasn't just a bird after she left us. Life was so hard and empty then.

I hear you ! I didn't lose my CAG, Kookooloo, but she did fly off once and while I was tracking her down I had a lot of time to reflect on her and our relationship. It was during this time that I truly realized that to me she was not just a bird, but an integral part of my life. I was lucky in that I was able to retrieve her. I know that it is not the same but the loss at the time was just as real and I didn't know if I would get her back alive or not.
All of this came rushing back while I was watching your video tribute to Cocoa and I was in tears and it took me a while before I could come back and thank you for sharing with us. I know that I have no words that can make it any better or to ease one moment of this loss. All I can do is thank you and tell you that I do understand.
