You can't compare predator to prey species. Predators that have no predators of their own (like pythons in the South) do great but prey is a different story. And yes, I am sure that there are some that do survive but it's a matter of percentages... it's the same as when people release doves, a very small percentage manages to make it for a while but most of them don't. And, personally, if I were a teacher, I would try to teach children to respect and protect animals.

our teacher does do that. if he see's someone doing something to taunt or scare any of the animals or abusing them they get sent down to the principals office >n< i watch them the most because im the " "bird lover" in my class in my team ( made up of two or three classes mine is called the bmw beamers) but i never taunt them or anything like that. i just watch them preen and the cutest moments are when they sleep. they sleep lying down and leaning against each other basically cuddling. they are very jumpy >U< they sleep usually during our lunch and when no one is in the class room.

Pythons do have predators especially when they are young. But if you don't like that example take the topic of this thread for example. I bet you know this but pheasants aren't native to america. They were released and have gained a foot hold and now are a pretty common sight. If what you are saying is correct they should not have been able to survive long enough to breath. I believe we should protect animals but I greatly enjoy hunting and don't really agree that killing animals is wrong. Their are exceptions to this like needlessly killing.

Poor little creatures. Afraid of everything because they have no defenses. Some times they have to go hungry or thirsty. Surviving the best they can. Then someone blows their head off.

I was raised on a small farm WV. We had a milk cow and always had two beef cows. We took good care of them and let them get nice and fat before they were slaughtered. My father would lead them to a tree away from the others. He knocked them out first and he did it on first try. The cow never knew what happened.

I have spent the vast majority of my life living off the land, hunting, foraging and fishing( sometimes even catching) and find nothing wrong with hunting for food.

I don't either but only if there is a need which in 99.999% of the cases, there isn't as most hunters don't eat what they kill, they do it for the 'fun of it' and I object to that.

Blu, the pythons that were released by pet owners were not babies, they were all too big to keep and that's why they were released in the first place.

Yes, pheasants are from Asia but the species that are released nowadays are not hardy (this was in one of the links I gave you).

Hunting is the art of walking out of your door and finding and walking up to the animal that you wish to photograph or touch or see. The rest is just plain killing and anyone can do that.
