Ok, folks, This is beginning to turn the wrong way and I really don't see that it is benefitting anyone. What do you say about all of us agreeing to a truce and letting this one fall by the wayside?

Sounds good to me, I should be allowed to have a baby bird and enjoy it and not have to defend or explain myself to someone who continues to make dire predictions about my bird even when I have asked for it to stop. Many people have stopped commenting after Parajs comments, and that is not what this forum is supposed to be about. I will Let it fall by the wayside.

So to start out a good post, today was a very good day. My Red Belly has decided to accept the Meyers into our little flock and now they can even both be sitting on me at the same time. I would never leave them alone without supervision but things are going along great.

That is great news ! MyGrey doesn't like any of my other birds to be on me while she is but I do manage to distract her enough for Kiki, Senegal, to get away with it and am working on the same accomplishment with Keeta, Parrotlet, although it is hard to say which one Kookooloo, CAG, or Keeta need the most distraction at this point.

Thanks Wolf, I was concerned it might end up I could only let one out at a time. Gaugan and I are as closely bonded as a human being and bird can be. i can actually feel the love emanating from her to me. She was very hurt in the beginning and I hated seeing the hurt in her eyes. But I kept telling her she was special to me, and I made sure I gave her long petting sessions in the evening and took her for car rides without Sunny present. In the 17 years I have had her she has learned to tolerate most other birds, except for Cockatiels.

There is a 14 year old male rescue Senegal available in town right now and I am so tempted, but it is too soon after adding Sunny I think and I dont want to upset the harmony I have managed to secure. The owner is old and going into a nursing home, and is giving the cage with the bird but the cage is a small budgie cage. The diet has been a seed mix. My heart goes out to the bird and I want it to have a good forever home.

please post more info on the Senegal and it's location in case another member in your area can take in a rescue. you could also rescue and search for a forever home while it is in quarantine so you can choose his new human. it would keep him out of flipper hands.
I claimed myrtle sight unseen to keep her from a breeder. I did not know what a bf was except it was an amazon

No problem here! I tried to do just that but it did not work well.

please post more info on the Senegal and it's location in case another member in your area can take in a rescue. you could also rescue and search for a forever home while it is in quarantine so you can choose his new human. it would keep him out of flipper hands.

it is so rare a rescue parrot comes up in this area. I have pmd the owner this morning and asked to be able to go and meet the parrot. They have a play stand for the Senegal made out of a wooden coat hanger stand, with toys hanging, but all the perches are hard wood and are the same size and the two perches in the small finch/budgie cage are too small for a Senegal and are hardwood too. I do have lots of toys I have made and I even have an extra cage.

Its another great day, Gaugan and Sunny continue to get along and today they played on the same playground.

I went to see the Senegal today with my daughter who lives next door, and we both fell in love with her. We are pretty sure it is a her and not a him. My daughter took Chili home. They had told us that Chili did not like people right away and took a while to warm up, but she took to me right away and liked my daughter too, so i think it will be a nice fit.
