Whisper Cuddles

Postby Saerphe » Fri Jul 03, 2015 9:28 pm

So tonight I was sitting on the couch with Akimi. She was perched on one hand, and I cuddled her on her other side with my other hand to give her kisses. I also made little whispery 'pssh pssh pssh' noises into her head and neck feathers. Judging by how she practically fell asleep, I think she liked it.

Does anyone else have a bird that likes to be whispered to like this? It's pretty dang cute. <3

GCCs whisper themselves. Codee always cuddles next to my neck and very, very softly vocalizes something that sounds like 'Wouldchu wouldchu" and Sophie CAG likes to 'tell me secrets' in my ear going something like 'Bishibishibishi' :D

I have noticed that she talks to herself quietly after I put her to bed for the night. It's kind of like she only has two volume settings - 'Whisper' and 'SCREAMSCREAMSCREAMSCREAM'.

When Rambo and Myrtle are not trying to out scream each other she likes to whisper. I talk to her in whispers while she is on my shoulder and she whispers her "baby blabber" in my ear.

Mine doesn't whisper much, he'll make chatter noises, and will scream on occasion.

He does make some funny noises though. For example: when he's walking around on the bottom of his cage, he'll start making a strange laughing sound, like he's plotting world domination, or something.

Maybe they are not mocking but imitating you and you know what they say about imitation: it's the highest praise one can get!

Jasper, my 21 month old GCC, Loves when we talk face to face. Most of the time he babbles back at the same time I am speaking, then when I pause he does as well. I think he is trying to mimic me but just really likes to have 'conversations' with me as well. He can say Jasper, Peek-a-boo, drink, very clearly, but 'baby boy' comes out as BeeBo. He also likes to sit on my shoulder cuddling under my hair and will 'whisper' just under my ear. If my hair is up in a clip and he wants his cuddle time he will land on my shoulder and peck at the clip. :gcc: :D

OH lol, he also LOVES to laugh ! He started laughing when my spouse would laugh, but now will also just start on his own. I don't want to anthropomorphize, but it often seems that there is a reason for it, such as once I started dancing....

Both my Grey and Amazon laugh at jokes even if no one else does and they laugh at us when we do things so I am pretty sure that they have a sense of humor and know what laughing is. If not then they have me fooled as well as my neighbors who have watched and heard them.
