VERY HOT WEATHER!

Hello from Las Vegas. I know it's been awhile since I have been on so I thought I would make a post on weather. Here the weather is very hot. It is around 95 at 3am, by the time the sun comes up sometimes it reaches 100 by 8am. so while other people may have to keep their flock in during winter, summer is a killer for my flock. It only takes about 5 minutes and Amos( Jenday ) is breathing hard. So right now I just don't take them out.

Although I don't think that air conditioning is very good for birds, due to the production of ozone, I suspect that in Vegas that you would have a hard time avoiding the use of them and probably have to keep plenty of bathing bowls filled to keep them cool enough.

Oh, geez! Am I glad I don't live there! I hate the heat! And yes, please, be careful, birds do die of sunstroke. I had a Hartz roller that did when the maid (this was back home) forgot to bring him in before noon.
