Well, my sister's husband is also from Australia, and so I started asking him about the native species there (mainly about the reptiles and birds, especially the birds). He told me about seeing cockatiels, cockatoos (sulphur crested and galahs), and quite a few species.
Well, the entire time he was talking, Dudley was laughing his evil villain laugh, that he does whenever he finds something funny, and that usually relates to whenever someone says or does something stupid. For whatever reason, he only did it while my sister's husband was talking.
I wonder if he thinks his accent's funny, or something?
Sometimes, I can just never tell what he's thinking.
) but, even if they did, I don't think it would be similar to ours. I think they imitate human laughter for different reasons, depending on how and when they learned it. I know that my male Senegal laughs so as to ingratiate himself to whoever happens to be the supposed recipient of his laughter. For example, he has been trying to woo Zoey, female Senegal, and he laughs a lot at her in a delighted sort of way like a human would do when a baby does something cute and endearing so I am thinking that, once upon a time, somebody laughed at him in the same way when he did something they particularly liked and he figured out that this type of sound is the consequence of good feelings toward the bird or person who is supposed to 'receive' the laughter.
