Very nice! The young ones are doing so well and they all are looking quite well. It has been a while so I guess that they have been keeping you very busy. Thank you for sharing with us, I always look forward to hearing from you, thank you.

They are keeping me busy. I have to keep an eye on them when they are out. Zizi likes to bully them. And I have to keep them away from Kilaya.

One of the babies was booked sometime back. The buyer will come to collect next month.
I sold to him on 3 conditions

1. No wing clipping
2. Fresh food must be provided on daily basis
3. Must provide out of cage time

So cute! But, you put them to sleep in a carrier that has no perch? Why not use a cage with perches or, at the very least, put a perch in the container? It's not good for them to be flat-footed during sleep, you know? Birds are supposed to sleep perching as there is a mechanism that locks their toes in place during sleep and, when you make them sleep on a flat surface, the tendons that are part of this mechanism suffer.

The birds are not fully weaned yet. From my observation of my cockatiels, babies at this age still sleep in the nestbox during the night. My babies sleep in the "nestbox" only during the night. They will soon be in a cage permanently as they are now rejecting their "bed".

I notice my 2 older conures sleep at the bottom of the cage in the night. They only sleep on the perch in the day.

Hmmmm, is it possible that the perches are not good for their feet because no bird sleeps on the ground willingly - it's sure death!

Ollie has one of those happy huts. He sleeps flat footed overnight and for his daytime naps. I'm sure you mentioned ed yours have them too do how is that any different (apart from being higher up of course)

Actually, my GCC doesn't have a hut, she sleeps on a perch next to her boyfriend (they were sleeping on top of the canary cages but I wasn't happy with that so I am now putting them in a cage at night). I had a pair that did (they were rehomed) but I only left it there during the warm weather months, they didn't have it during the winter months. But you are correct that flat-footed is flat-footed whether it's the ground or the bottom of a hut.
