Yes, better safe than sorry! Instead of changing clothes, you can put a large shirt on top of a Tshirt when you go into the spare room and just take it off when you come out -that's what I do.

I did do that until I caught it on the door handle and ripped a massive chunk out of it. Don't have anything else big enough now lol.

Do keep us updated on the introductions process- it's getting closer to the time when I plan to bring home a friend for Fajr, and would love to follow along your process so I can have an idea of what to expect.

Must be difficult splitting up your time. Best of luck!

Thank you. :)

Rena is so cuddly & easily vocalises twice as much as much as Ollie- and louder too.
My boyfriend is back home thankfully so we can make sure they both have enough attention, the past couple of days have been hard because I've had work too (only 4 hours but still!) and daylight hours are short.
Ollie couldn't care less that he can hear another bird, she calls when he calls but he doesn't call when she calls.

He will. GCCs are easy to get to bond - all the little ones are.

Rena is a funny girl, she's been grabbing her tail feather with her foot and bending it right back to scratch her own head with it!

I've added a couple more pics to the album in my initial post.

She looks like she's having the time of her life! Glad she seems to be loving everything so much.

Rena is well and truly at home now- she has started nipping and hard! She's fine with my boyfriend at the moment but he has spent less time with her so far. Now I have 2 birds out for my blood! Lol.

Rena is at the vets tomorrow. I turned a bit stalkerish and managed to track down my usual vet. Much happier now I know he isn't ill/changing career/moving abroad but he doesn't know if he is staying where he is....:(

I used to follow my avian vet all over the Poconos. She did not have a clinic of her own so she moved around and wherever she was, I would follow - until I moved back to NJ and I lost her to my great consternation! She was the best avian vet I've ever had even though she was not certified - she also had the only Luchsi quaker I've ever seen in captivity.

What a pain.

He did say he was planning to stay in his local area but is just locum at the moment. I have no idea why he left where he was though, he has been there since he qualified as far as I know. ...

I'm going to have a chat with him tomorrow, hopefully he will give me some idea of how I can keep up with where he is working because I can't be ringing round absolutely everywhere all the time and I do really want to keep the birdies with him if I can. I'm not saying he is the best vet in this country but I do trust him with my birds which is something I've never had before with a vet.
