Well yesterday the noise levels dropped a little thankfully. I'm hoping for the same today.
They are both spending a portion of the day in the Spare room as of yesterday. Not much happening so far, they seem ok when left alone in the spare room- as in ignoring each other. Ollie is being a little git in the living room though, he has chased her of the play tree and off of me or my boyfriend so we are sticking to separate out times now when in the living room.

Yes, that's what I thought. It's not that he hates her or anything like that, it's that he doesn't want to share you - or his tree ("GET AWAY FROM IT! IT'S MINE MINE MINE!!!" )

Everything in this place belongs to the zoo anyway lol. He is simply going to have to learn to share! We had none of this with Harlie, they ignored each other. I think the difference is that if Ollie ever did get too close for her liking she would stand her ground and hiss at him. Ollie gets his way with Rena cuz she gets out his way.

So its bed time for them both now as the sun is setting. I extended the time in the spare room for them today whilst I've been sat on the floor in the hallway keeping an eye on things whilst doing my admin. Most uncomfortable I can tell you.

Today's story is that they have done absolutely nothing. ... literally just sat in one spot for 5 hours waiting for me to come back! They can't see me at all.

That's fine (not the uncomfortably sitting on the floor thing  the things we do for our birds, right?!). Their apparently ignoring each other is actually perfect. They are not, you know? They are aware of each other and studying each other...

I am working on setting up streaming video. Like a nanny cam for the birds. It is perfect for this kind of situation but not sureyet how to set it up. Once I figure it out, I will post about how i did it.

A normal Web cam would do the job. Of course depending on what species you have you may need to do something to stop them playing with it (definitely the wire).
I'm just not buying anything new right now.

Still no progress what so ever.

Alone in the spare room they just sit by the door waiting for me to come back.

We keep periodically bringing them out together in the living room but there is no change there either. Ollie just take it apon himself to drive her away from whatever she is doing occasionally.

In other news Rena has definitely quietened down but is still far more noisy than Ollie. She has taken to the gloop like a dream, there is nothing in it that she won't eat but she does save the squash & pumpkin until last.
I think she is slightly hormonal too as she keeps plonking herself on our hands in suggestive positions but hopefully she will be back on track soon.

Kookooloo is very similar to Ollie in that she will drive any one away that dares to perch on me while she is there and if she can get to their cage when she is on hers she will push them away from their cage as well. I am somewhat surprised at Kiki, though as I know that she is not afraid of Kookooloo because she has stood her ground against her before, but she doesn't push it any more relying on me instead to stop Kookooloo from attacking her while they are both on me.

I could understand if it was him driving her off of me and my boyfriend, which he does do but it's at random from anything...

...The play tree, the back of the sofa, the top of the rabbit cage, their birdy bath, even the floor!

I've never had these issues and I've never been careful about introductions in the past, it's always just worked out, 'tiels, budgie, peach front, rosella- no issues between any of them.
This time now I know more I've done it with caution and it's not going so good. I don't know if they will ever get on because Rena avoids him now, if he gets closer than a foot away she flies off.
