Well, we'll be trying it tomorrow for the first time. The one sure-fire way to get him to eat something is for ME to eat it. And no pretending or fooling. He has to see it go in my mouth and not come out. No problem, I'll do it!
Well there is nothing in it that is harmful and mine does not taste too bad. Once the neighbor was looking in the fridge and decided to try this vegetarian stew that he saw, I had to stop him before he ate all of my birds gloop. Don't ask why he was in my refridgerator, just that it was ok for him at that time.
Okay, true story. Speaking of how I am an inadequate parrot... The Rickeybird rarely sees me in anything except jeans and some kind of shirt. One day, years ago, I went to check on him wearing just a towel (I had just showered). One look and he shrieked and fell right off his perch! He flapped and flipped and flopped... I was as scared as he was. After I was sure he was okay, I went and got dressed. I never horrified him with my near-naked form again!
