I was actually amazed at the speed he was clocked and I wanted to see what species it was but I couldn't tell from the picture - can any of you?

I couldn't tell either. If there wasn't an arrow with the word parrot I wouldn't have even known the bird was in the picture.

The parrot was going about 26-27 mph.

I am no good with technology but I thought that maybe one of our members who is could... I don't know, copy the photo, enlarge it and make it more clear?

I think it would be difficult to enlarge the photo, as the quality of the original isn't that great from what I can see on my phone.

That said, I'm not surprised. Lemon and Clover like to zoom around the floor immediately after being let out. If youre in a darkened room in the middle of their route, or if you move just as they come up on you, or if they swerve to avoid crashing into each other and you are in the middle of the detour route...you stand a pretty good chance of being smacked in the face/head. They don't crash into stationary objects, just people in their way.

The time one collided with my head, it hit me that they are actually going pretty fast. (Pun intended) If they had an open sky and unlimited space, I'm sure they could go much faster.

Yes, an open space would 'invite' more speed. I was curious as to the species because I noticed that some parrots are faster than others (usually, the 'medium' size ones -my senegals can fly SUPER fast!) but there are studies that show that similar species fly within the same speed range so if we could have figured out what species this parrot was, we would have been able to extrapolate the info for other similar species... because, the thing is that (as usual!) we don't really have any info about speed of flight in different species of parrots. We know about passerines, ducks, geese, gulls, and all kind of birds of prey but nothing about parrots. Well, we do know that shape of wing would indicate the degree of maneuverability a bird would have and that this, plus wing load would give us a good idea of the speed range but birds fly at different speeds depending on the situation -and we know nothing about this when it comes to parrots.
