The 2 umbrellas in the last picture are living with one of my good friends. The one on his shoulder is miko , he is a rehome that came in from the coast who's mom was terminally ill with cancer , my husband was friends with her boyfriend and he brought miko down and we placed him with our friend in the picture. Well about 3 months ago here comes dolly , she was a casualty of divorce , banished to a back room in a business so the wife couldn't get her and pretty much left alone without her mom. A pastor was at the business and the guy was gripping about the noise dolly was making in the back room and said he was just going to turn her loose. Well the pastor ended up taking her home with absolutely no idea what he was getting into. Well long story short after a week his wife gave him 2 days to get rid of her. They found out about me and called , he was already getting pretty fond of her so I let him bring her over to see the set- up (I usually don't do that). Well dolly went to the quarantine room and I called in some extra help so I could spend lots of time with her. OMG did I fall in love , she was just like my Rosie that had passed away years ago. When she got to meet the crew it was absolute caous. She wanted to kiss and cuddle with all the birds , nobody would love on her. Well they were so mean to her I just took her everywhere. I went to my friends to visit with him and miko , dolly came along. Well the picture tells the story ! :cockatiel: I cried my eyes out and let her stay. BW.

Poor Dolly and Miko, It is heartbreaking to me how many birds are rehomed when peoples lives turn a different track. So sweet that Dolly and Miko were a match, beautiful photos, again thankyou for sharing your flock with us :D

I always say that, sometimes, we are nothing but a station in their lives... they come from somewhere and end up somewhere else. But that doesn't mean they don't need this 'station' in between!

Any birds that I rehome are never sold and will come back if the need ever arises. There are a few new additions to the family and I'll send pics to wolf and maybe he will post them for me. :macaw: :greycockatiel: :monk: :cockatoo: and these little pictures represent the newbies that are here or on there way. Well the macaw came for a visit and will be brought back with his luggage in tow this Saturday. The people came over when the fids and I were having a picnic dinner. We all gather around the picnic table , everyone gets the back of a chair and I put a big smorgasbord out and everyone eats together ( outside) less mess I knew they were comming. The macaw is never bathed and has terrible feathers and a lot of dander. They thought there bird was in great shape until they saw my huie. The birds weren't allowed to get around each other as I'm a stickler about quarantine. She insisted full blood work was just done so I am having her call the vet tomorrow to release medical records so I can discuss his condition with the vet. Definantly sinusitis , probably from being kept dry and unabathed. He or she ? Guess I'm going to have them both sexed. Can't wait to get diet straightened out and see the beautiful bird he's suppose to be. Pajarita is LSC lessor sulfer crested ? You have one too ? Mine is such a little social butterfly , full of piss and vinegar , hell on wheels , absolutely will not let anyone new blow her off. So very social and absolutely loves meeting new people. Is yours like that ? BW

I only pay for car insurance with minimum required by law. My house insurance would have been $2000 a year. I believe it is better to save the money to be used when needed.

The 'sinusitis' is usually caused by lack of vit A so make sure he/she gets A LOT of betacarotene at the beginning. Yes, I have two LSCs (Lesser Sulfur Crested), one is Freddy, the biggest ham in the history of parrots who loves people and to show off; and the other is Linus who has 'issues'. He is the one on which I posted an update recently because, for the first time since he came here, he has let some feathers grow whole. He has also finally began to like me (approaches me on his own, looks forward to my talking and touching him, etc) and to stand up to the other birds. And, although this might not sound like a lot to most parrot keepers is BIG for him and me because I thought he was irrevocably disaffected and that he would never be happy - now, I have hope!

Hopefully this is the latest picture from Bird Woman. It require a bit of editing and I am not very familiar with the Windows 10 photo apps.
