Thank you ! I love my little not so little family . Several newbies have come in and I've been so busy working with them and taking care of there medical and nutritional needs. Socializing has to take a back seat for a while. Vet visits are pretty time consuming as my vet is pretty slow. I'll take updated pics soon. Ayla the little goffin that came in with a messed up head is doing great. What I little sweet heart. She is a mini t-Rex where my husband is concerned kinda like a heat seeking bomb. She loves me and only me right now , but I know she feels safe with me and I'm sure that is due to her injury how ever that happened. I just wish people would tell me the truth when they bring these birds to me , it would make it so much easier. Eventually the bird itself will tell the story if you pay attention!!!!!! Well time to start the fids breakfast there starting to wake up. BW

How do people find you, BW?

And they just show up and dump the bird?

Geeeeeeeez, at least they dump it someplace caring, as opposed to just tossing them out a widnow, I GUESS!!!!

I believe she had put an ad in CL saying she would take in birds in need but Birdwoman will answer on her own, I am sure.

Wow guys , I could probably take all this the wrong way but I won't ! First of all the Craig list post offered to educate people so hopefully they can learn to take care of there bird before things get beyond there control or help them in placing the bird with homes that have the experience and funds to take care of them. I am fortunate in being able to fund all that I do privately as well as have Helpers that come every other day that most of the birds have eagerly accepted and some of them squeal with excitement when they see them. An example of what I do ) yesterday a young woman on disability contacted me and has inherited her dead grandmothers mollucan and it has been in a very small cage for a very long time. She wants to give it the care and love that it should have been having all along. I brought her a size appropriate cage with proper food a shower perch and toys . Gave her a list of vegies and fruit and instructions onto this site for studying and learning. She is in contact with me asking questions and reading all about her bird now. And that feels pretty dam good. Soooo yes I'm happily answering my own. Good day girls BW. P.S. I didn't charge her a dime she is on disability. :D

I do too! I often answer CL ads offering birds to see if I can help them keep it but I can't afford to give them anything but gloop and advice :D . Unfortunately, most of them don't really want any help, they just want to sell the bird.

I am sorry if I wrote anything that offended you. It was not meant that way. You had mentioned you were going to take down your CL ad and, given the fact that you had taken quite a few of them lately, I assumed (wrong of me, of course) that the ad was offering to take in birds. But, even if that had been the case, I don't see anything wrong with it and never meant to put you down for it.

So this young neighbor is working out, eh! That's great! It's hard to find people who have the right feeling for birds and don't mind the drudgery of the work involved. I had hired a lady when I had my rescue but she lasted two months!
