I know of only a few Patagonians kept as pets, although I know they're out there.
I met one at an online site. A couple adopted him from a rescue. He was almost featherless and couldn't walk, and they were told he was a BABY. A vet-visit revealed he was closer to 20 and very ill. INCREDIBLY, they stepped up and got him the intensive/expensive care he needed and today he is RECOVERING. Those people are my heroes. And the bird is the Rbird's soul-cousin.
Okay, I'm off to clean His Majesty's cage and see what else I can do for Him. I have some nice fresh sunflower seeds (grown by my sister-in-law) but I'm not sure they're dry yet...
