Clipped GCCs rescued!

Postby Pajarita » Thu Oct 06, 2016 11:16 am

This is a story about a Canadian plumber driving to a job and finding two GCCs in the middle of the road. Apparently, the clipped birds managed to get away from their owner but they were standing in the middle of the road unable to fly to safety so the guy stopped and took them to a vet's office before continuing on his way to the job - and he ended up adopting them!

It was a great thing this man did. I hope the true owners never find them. Clipping wings is cruel. It takes away the one thing that a bird has and non other does.
I hope he lets their wings grow back.

:gcc: What an awesome job he did saving them! And now adopting them.

What an odd place to find birds though, even clipped ones. One has to wonder if they were actually abandoned on purpose. It's a horrible thought but sadly a possibility. Conures are such sweet, trusting birds too! (or this is the impression I've gotten!) They'll probably have a much better life now!

I seriously doubt they were abandoned on purpose... why would anybody do that when you can easily sell them, give them away or put them in a rescue? No, most likely, the owner thought it was safe to leave a window open because they were clipped... lots of clipped birds get lost because of the erroneous belief that clipping their wings prevents this from happening.
