Yes, I caught that too! But, all in all, it's a good article, I think.

I read somewhere that parrots and birds can get sick from and die if a cat scratches them. What do you know about this?

This is true. Its called cat scratch fever and can make humans ill if you get a scratch or bite from a cat and don't clean it straight away. Its bacteria in the claws and saliva.
Although you could get something if a human bit or clawed you and you didn't clean it.
OH used to take in wild birds and rehabiitate them for release. If there was any suspician or we knew they had been brought in by a cat they went straight onto antibiotics as they can be dead within a couple of days from this.
We have cats as well as parrots, they are never let out in the same room. If the parrot is in its cage the cats know to keep away because parrots nip.

That was a good article. They did leave out "how much do you like cleaning"?

 Yes, they did, Liz. But then I think that anybody who likes cleaning is not quite right in the head! Mind you, it's not that I don't keep a clean house because I do but not because I 'like' cleaning, I don't - what I do like is the result!

Lori gave you the right answer. I had cat scratch fever and let me tell you that it's no picnic! The lymph nodes under my right arm (I guess I got a scratch in my right hand) were so swollen and painful, I couldn't lower it all the way.
