I seen a Falcon in my cousins garden next door eating what looked to be a Starling, This is my first time to see a Bird of Prey out in the wild and ill have to be extra careful now that I know there are some actually around my area.I feel terrible for my Uncle though he will have to clean the horrible mess :O

Someone told me it was a Sparrow hawk and that they have seen them a few times here in Ireland and I remember last summer I had Rocko on the swing in the garden and I thought I seen a baby Hawk injured but maybe it was a Sparrow hawk just swooping down to catch its prey but the reason I thought it was injured is because there was a large circle of crows in the sky.
Crows often mob birds of prey to try to drive them away. A very risky strategy with a sparrowhawk that will kill in the air. We often see crows round here mobbing buzzards.
We and others in our neighborhood have lost kittens and small cats. I believe they have been taken by the hawks that circle overhead. I also lost my Squeekie who was 20 pounds and too big for a hawk. Then my son saw a hawk fly by him with a bald eagle chasing it. I had still been searching for her but the sighting of a bald eagle in my yard tells me that Squeekie is no more.
