Introducing Dandelion and Burdock

Postby AnneBoleyn » Tue Mar 21, 2017 2:22 pm

I hope this is in the right place, but I actually managed to get them to sit together for one moment. Burdock has the darker head and they are both sat on my knee.

They are baby Plum heads not very hard to tame them so young, I have a strongly bonded pair of Cockatiels that are tame but I don't ask them to interact with me they are free to do whatever they want which is how they like it.

You are right. Burdock is getting some coloring. But they are very much babies and need so much care and attention. At the moment they love a chest cuddle, in other words sat on my chest, gently stroked and petted and talked to softly and tenderly. Your voice and demeanor can calm when you love them. Dandelion and Burdock are rescue babies and I have only had them 6 weeks, but mine is their forever home. They have both just had a fresh raspberry supper and I am getting the soft beak grinding and cooing that is telling me its bedtime.
My first parakeet was a beautiful Budgie when I was just 3. His name was Sparks. This photo is from 1970.

They are not bonded because they are only babies, but Dandelion (young female) is the boss and Burdock is very cheeky.

Pajarita giving me unsolicited advice. I am gone.
Obviously this person is so expert they should be the world top authority on parakeets. Let us all bow down to them!
I came here to chat, but I got unsolicited unwanted advice. Pajarita is feeding "gloop" to her/his birds you And needs reporting. I have the IP and I wont be back.

unsolicited advice on food and vitamins. I neither asked for it or wanted it...My babies get fresh fruit and veg, but pajarita gave me advice I do not need. I have cared for parakeets for over 40 years and forgive me, but I do know what they enjoy. I don't need a lecture on vitamins...sorry. but I am not staying with that kind of lecturing attitude....
