All my amazons are much older than 8 and I have no problems BUT I give them a low protein diet and keep them at a super strict solar schedule and no stress and I still need to steer clear of the male during breeding season (the females never give you trouble, even when overly hormonal, they just want more love - it's the males that are difficult).
Brandon, as usual, I am going to be the balloon popper but I have to tell you that 6 hours in a park on a chilly, cloudy day is terrible for any parrot, especially for a baby - he looks cold and scared.
