Oscar Relaxing on the park bench while enjoying the scenery and the lovely birds chirping, I didn't notice how sweet those birds sound until I watched the video lol its nice to listen to them.Oscar also wearing his new Oscar The Grouch hoodie I'm sure he was a lot warmer than me because I was freezing wearing only a top and shorts and the sun went down, We stayed in the park for 6 hours

Is it true that lots of owners cannot handle these birds after 7 or 8 years of age after the hormones kick in?

If you don't socialise the bird and don't have some sort of relationship then the bird can become aggressive but hormones end and there are ways to calm them down and its only when its breeding season not all year.I met a man at the park though and he has a 14 year old and he said he was never aggressive during his hormonal season so it really depends on the individual and to be honest I'm not very good at explaining it especially since I haven't experienced it yet.

All my amazons are much older than 8 and I have no problems BUT I give them a low protein diet and keep them at a super strict solar schedule and no stress and I still need to steer clear of the male during breeding season (the females never give you trouble, even when overly hormonal, they just want more love - it's the males that are difficult).

Brandon, as usual, I am going to be the balloon popper but I have to tell you that 6 hours in a park on a chilly, cloudy day is terrible for any parrot, especially for a baby - he looks cold and scared.

I hope you are not on your own on your outings with oscar because if i remember rightly youre quite young. I hope a couple of druggies dont ever spot you with that bird and decide its worth a bit of money. Be careful.

It was warm all day except when we decided to go home because it was getting late and cold though still I did stay later than I intended to, Were going again tomorrow though this time ill be leaving earlier around 11am and go home earlier too.
