As to how long does the sexual hormone production on fiery shoulders... well, it all depends mainly on the diet because they are low protein feeders (nectar, buds, fruits, etc). They breed at the end of the dry season all the way up to the beginning of the rainy, at about 13 - 14 hours of light but they start producing hormones at 12 hours of light (so light is important, too). In their natural habitat, this happens in March, April and May.
