They are the 'humans' of the avian world

Postby Pajarita » Mon Dec 10, 2018 11:03 am

SUPER DUPER interesting!!! They did the genome of the Blue Fronted zon and found that parrots might be as different from all other birds as humans are to all other primates! WOW!!!!!

First two are articles, third link is actual results - enjoy!!!

PS - they call them 'Turquoise-fronted' but we know them as Blue Fronted and they are not just from Brazil, as they state on one of the articles, they are in Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.

They are the most variable-looking Birds, too. No two look alike. Like with humans.

When I was able to bring Myrtle back from the awful conditions she was in, she had blue between her eyes. Since then she grew blue on her forehead. Now she is growing blue under her eyes too.

They are not only all different like people but continue to change in appearance like people do.
