I've wonder that myself. I also have no idea how they manage feeding at night time. I have the blind open which lets in light from the street along with a night light, but the nest box only has a little hole, so not much light is going to get in. Well their crops have food in them, so it must be coming from somewhere hey??
I can't video her when she is feeding them because she stops as soon as we look in and gives me this Evil Possessed look! Its freaky.
Mandy, their instincts are just amazing. I have no idea how she knows what to do. Even things like her having a bath just before the eggs hatch. She leaves most of the moisture on and then goes into the nest box. This increases the humidity and also helps soften the egg shells.
