The nest box stayed incredibly clean all the way until the first egg hatched. Up until then when they both were out of the nest box I occasionally refreshed the Nesting Material. So only the one change in 3 weeks and no smells at all. Remember no poops in the box.
Now that the little ones have arrived we are just beginning to get smells in the box. Logically this is due to the Babies doing their business in the box. Most breeders don't change the material until all the babies are removed. Our plan is to change the material once a week, so tomorrow will be the first change. Its also worth noting the nesting material we us is pasteurized and formulated for them, so it does get expensive.
Now on to the more important news . . Baby 5 Hatched this morning
