I am because I only want to learn the macaw trix and other stuff, while I want the gray to be like a dove or a ninja as I call him. He is one of the sneakiest birds I have ever seen, before I know it, it has gone to the wardrobe and looks at me and make a fast whistle noise. its like he just showing of his ninja skills.

Oh my gosh, dont you just hate it when people come up and stick their hand out so fast and try and pet your bird!! argghh , its as rude as someone sticking their hand in your face! Need to carry a fly swatter to hit wack all those pesky hands

I KNOW. IT IS SO ANNOYING. Nobody would do that to a dog. Why do they see differently to a parrot? I think people have a very bad idea of how dangerous that beak is.

haha, I mean the beak even looks dangerous, its hardly the softest looking part of the bird, you would think peoples instincts of maybe I shouldn't touch that would kick in.

haha my avian vet said that he has a bit of a sadistic side because when that happens to him he finds it very amusing when people get bitten.

But I still think its very important to try socialize parrots so that they are marginally comfortable with being touched by strangers.

I let my memberdhip to Mensa lapse after college. I know enough to know how ignorant I am. I know enough to understand limits(not to say I don't push them) I take my Goffin out in public because he loves attention and does not mind if someone touches him. I do not care to let my Macaw become overly social with others. IF she does, she does. The macaw can hurt someone. She bit a stranger that tried to touch her too quickly. The Goffin is just an attention whore...I like this one..Its my Goffin with my Lab...Iggy acts like he is captain of this canine..

Sadly, my lab died 3 weeks ago. Iggy has been in morning...I have thought of thinning my flock and Iggy is probably the only bird I can find a good home. My Amazon was given to because she was mean. My African was given to me cause she was mean. And the macaw thinks I her mate :D

I don't claim to know all about birds, but I know a fair amount. One does not need to be a genius to owna bird, but they are truly a life commitment. Now if you want to pet my little piggy...you go...

i only had one stranger ask to pet my amazon when i took him to a pet store(i've been told i look intimidating to people)she asked me from behind i told her to ask the bird if he puts his head down and lifts his feathers that means yes or he'll say ″no″.he let her.
