Not yet a parrot owner, so I guess I can't contribute to that "average" generalization.

But if it means anything, I scored 99th percentile on SAT :D
I also go to the top college in my state (It's almost universally accepted as the best one in state by practically all poll organizations)
I'm a national merit semi-finalist - something exceedingly difficult to do (I was one of the 8 in my high school)

AND I'LL BE BUYING A PARROT WHEN I MOVE OUT :D

But that sorta crosses the line from IQ to common sense :P

oops, did I just bring back a dead thread? :(

In my teens I was tested and declared 138 IQ. I don't go much on that. I have found that common sence wins over IQ.

My X is 142 and can't think his way out of a paper bag.

In all fairness people do just run up to dogs but is very dangerous.

I also am not a parrot owner yet and realize I am ignorant to many things but that does not make me stupid. I may be more thoughtful than many and I do understand your point. However I believe many people are just ignorant not stupid. :)

I think that the main difference between us and the people like that is that we care enough to look things up and use some common sense about parrots. There are so many stereotypes about parrots that people never even think about if it's realistic or not. If there was a stereotype about a type of person or something, most people would want to think about it.
