Some pics of Kims birds

Postby Kim S » Thu Jul 29, 2010 3:43 am

I think it would be a good idea if everyone head their own picture topic. That way we wont be flooding this part of the forums too much with different topics everytime. Good Idea Ellen!

Yesterday I made some photos of the young cockatiels I have up for sale. The pearl one, called Inti is actually hand raised since the parents decided to stop feeding the young. Her brothers and sisters all have new homes but Inti still doesnt have a healthy weight in my opinion, so she will stay here till she does.
The other two, Pearl the albino and Pinto the pied whiteface will be leaving the nest within a couple of days. They will stay with the parents for another 2 weeks to learn bird manners. Then they will be given a nice cage in our livingroom to get used to all the human palaver. When I am satisfied that they can fend for them selves they wil be ready to move to a new permanent home.

Today I got some willowbranch for Kika to chew on. I tied it to his willow perch that is hanging from the ceiling. It made a pretty little picture :D

Im sorry for using the flash, but it has been a bit of a gloomy morning.

oh thanks! I thought it is handy! but than again I am someone who takes lots of photos and that is why I thought it would be better to put them in one topic all together.

Thanks guys (girls :D ).
Pearl just left the nestbox today. So I took her (him?) inside for a while to get to know Guus. I think Guus his hormones are starting to kick in. He even wanted to step up on her  Anyway, they got along great. All th ebetter since Pearl and Pinto will be moving to the livingroom in a couple of weeks and Guus will help train them.
Our lutino tiel couple has three little babies as well. When I get to it I will post some pics.

Cockatiels are so sweet! It makes me miss hand feeding them! And your Sennie is gorgeous. I believe he might be a blue eyed senegal.

A blue eyed? Never heard of that before. But keep in mind, he is just 10 months. It might just be the residu of the baby eyes.
