I got a birth certificate and a receipt, so I assume that will be sufficient proof?

The breeder is parrotcare in the UK. To be honest though, I'm past caring about the bad stuff - the bird is healthy and happy and thats good enough for me. I'll get him chipped myself!

He is settling in fine now. I can open the door and offer him food, he'll happily come and take it from me. As he takes it I am using the clicker to get him used to it.

I havent tried to hold him or touch him yet, we are working towards that. I was changing his 'poo paper' under the cage grill earlier and he came down to see what I was doing and was following me around the cage - probably hoping for a piece of veg.

He is superb. :D

Was chatting away to Jabba earlier, he was clicking and whistling back then he decided to head bob then start to regurgitate his food.

Apparently I'm to take this as a compliment!

Yes, if they regurgitate for you ... they like you :D

Try not to encourage the behavior though ... my Senegal does this when we're cuddling - he usually starts after 10 - 15 minutes. Once he starts I put him back in his cage, on his cage or playstand to get his mind off of it.

Its good, but not good at the same time. It is a definate sign that he likes you. But dont let him proceed with anything even remotely like matingbehaviour. Theres a good chance he will become a one person bird since he is bondend that strongly to you that he doesnt need anybody else.
Not to mention its yucky :?

BTW, did you get a chance to talk to the breeder yet?

No, not yet. Been busy interacting with Jabba. :D

He climbed onto my arm earlier to get to the piece of carrot I was offering which was fantastic. Only problem I seem to be having is that everytime I put my hand near him he expects it to be giving him something tasty.

Its a great start though.

Thanks to all of you for your continued posts and encouragement/help. Its much appreciated.

Aw Jabba is a cute little fellow! I am glad he is settling in, some birds just do not like such big change. :)

Oh and my caique Galileo loooooooves to try to regurgitate for me now... She used to not like me, we had an uneasy alliance going, and now she doesn't really want to be around anyone but me. Sigh. We are working on that though! Good luck with your new little buddy. :senegal:
