I know  . I have a lot of researching and planning ahead of me. Right now I'm looking at the current arrangement as being permanent, which would be fine with me. When Pele is out around the house (after the quarantine) he won't be able to see Mojo's cage. And Pele's cage is in my office so Mojo will never see him when I have him out.

Wow, so it is! That's perfect, I was worrying about what I was going to call 'him' if the DNA results come back showing 'he' is a 'she'!

you know, im sure the family really appreciates you caring so much for Pele, and your respect for their grief. I too had to rehome a bird, I was very young, my father was laid off from work, and we were forced to move cross country for his new job opportunity. My parents would only allow for me to bring one bird with us, so i chose between my senegal i had for 6 years at the time, or my sisters(turned mine, it really only liked me) 2 year old nanday conure. Given the situation, it was sudden trauma, and we never planned to move so far. We also drove, so space was limited with what we could fit in our van. Im glad i made the choice i did because the conure was still young and would be able to recuperate well( i suppose). I did screen the people taking her, and actually found them because of a man who directed a private church school adopted my fish, so he connected me with their receptionist. She took my 6 cockatiels as well, so i would assume the conure felt a little more at home. It just felt right. It seemed like a good thing. About one week after the rehome, i recieved an email with a photograph. She seemed happy, and they exclaimed how well she was getting along with everyone in the house. One more week later, i received a phone call from the woman's daughter, who all on her own called me. She was interested in her care and nutrition. I knew she was in the right hands, for that girl would care for her the way i wanted, in a loving way, with the birds health in mind.

You think that just cause everyone is entranced with Deb's Cape that you can get away with not posting any updates about Pele? I don't think so!
