lol, allegra has been 103-105 grams for two weeks now, she better grow within a few months and catch up with charlie and pele haha shes small compared to them :( -- she likes to play with ANYTHING. its pretty crazy.. every toy i buy her she bites it to shreds or hangs upside down from.
she loves going on her back, i think she would sleep like that if she could lol. i think shes just soo active cause shes a baby? im not sure, charlie i got when he was a little older but he is definitely nothing like her.

seems to me that allegra and pele make similar noises. she has these weird little sounds, i cant really explain it. theyre really adorable though, never heard my nanday make them before. and of course i'm sure their screams are similiar. she as well only screams when she is excited and also right when she wakes up (at 7am, ughh shoot me on the weekends lol). other than that she is very quiet and will just enjoy her food and toys. never have i seen a bird eat like her, its all she does sometimes!

That does sound small! She's still a baby though, and sounds like she's very active. From what I've learned from Pele's previous owners and what I've seen she's always had a very sedentary lifestyle so she may also be a little overweight. And she really loves her food too! I swear some days she would eat the same as Mojo if I let her, and he's a hefty 480 grams!

She only came with 4 toys, none of them schredable or chewable. One is a bell hung by metal rings, one is her little rope cluster she sleeps beside (and regurgitates on, but I haven't noticed her getting 'busy' with it yet and she's not territorial with it), one is hard plastic that she doesn't pay attention to, and then there's another hard plastic one that has things inside that roll around and make noise. I think she's just never learned how to play with toys :( . She will chew through some of the shreddable toys to get to millet, but if there's no food she's not interested. She also used to have a wood dowel perch that she chewed through before I got her, likely because it was the only thing that was chewable in her cage. I wish I could have her out with Mojo so he could teach her how to play with things! I do my best but she always pays more attention to me than the toys. She will play with one of those plastic balls with a bell in the middle, it's like a small cat toy. She likes to make me fetch it but I grow tired of that game after a while!

I'm really interested to find out how Allegra will behave once she's sexually mature. Pele seems to really like me, in an inappropriate way. She 'presents' herself to me all the time. Which also could be something she picked up from the people that had her before. They would pet her tail by grabbing it around the base and pulling up, they said she really liked it.... well yeah, of course she did... :? it's not something I do with her but she asks for it all the time :|. I try to be careful with her and not pet her back or under her wings because I really don't want to encourage it. I'm really not sure if that's typical behavior for a mature female or if it's a learned behaviour.

I don't think you can scale food amount with bird size... I swear Scooter eats more than Scotty does! Well, probably not, but I certainly wouldn't have expected their eating patterns to be so different. And Scooter is definitely not fat, he's been the same 68g since I first put him on the scale.

I think that it's their metabolism. Jake normally eats way more than Scarlet, and she has 300+ grams on him!
