Food goes into food dish, dummy...

Postby Sekica » Sun Aug 29, 2010 5:08 pm

Okay, apparently I'm the dummy here.

I gave my tiel Ben a millet spray, which he loves to eat, but for some reason wouldn't eat it this time. He was staring at it, then at me, then at it, etc. Knowing him I knew something was up.

Yup, he finally picked it up and carried it over to his snack dish. Then he dropped it into the dish. And then he proceeded to eat it.

Just wanted to share this little funny moment. It was so cute it made my day.

Hehe, yeah, he's a cutey. Usually he just annoys me until I hold the darn thing for him. And he insists I hold it until he's done regardless of how tired my hand gets. His favorite way to eat his treats is out of my hand, which is strange since he's hand aggressive.

Had a moment almost exactly like this! this morning I gave Jake his morning pellets then took out his water dish so I could change out the water. Apparently I didn't give him his water fast enough. He took a pellet in his hand, went to where his dish should be and banged the pellet on the loop it drops into. I look at him and the turkey waves the pellet like "HELLO! I need water here! How else am I supposed to eat these without WATER!"

Its weird ... I had an odd moment today with my tiels today.. They were playing outside the cage until I heard them become really quiet.. When I came back to check on them they had put themselves away so to speak. Jasper was inside the cage preening and Diamond was pulling the cage door inwards to close it with her beak.

Lol, don't they just crack you up? I love the similar stories you guys shared.

I took the tiels to a shopping center yesterday since the place has outdoor walkways. Even though it was their first time there, they were quite loud and drew tons of attention. Max even got some cuddles from people. Everyone was really nice to them, and all the people who got to pet Max asked if they could first. Of course during the outing they also got tons of new stuff. Wish I had a camera...
