Chatty Scotty!

Postby entrancedbymyGCC » Mon Aug 30, 2010 4:45 pm

So aside from his initial hello, Scotty has either been quiet or making frequent beeping calls (which I hope settles down soon. I suspect he's missing the macaws and other noisy birds in the shop). Today, however, he settled down after a while and then, when I left the room to get ready for work, he started going through his vocal repetoire. I didn't catch it all, but he said "Hello" several times, something that sounded like "Meow", someone's ring tone (Ride of the Valkyries I think) and a number of other clearly learned vocalizations.

He's also gotten quite cuddly. He's really bonding with Bill, and he offered me a "hug" yesterday. The shop implied he might be a handful, but I sure haven't seen it yet. I can reach right in his cage to do the food and water (the stainless cups are on backorder). He growled at me once and I just stepped him up and moved him over.

Off to go home and we'll both take baby to his vet appointment.

That`s exciting! I`m glad he`s settling in so quickly!

Wonder what else he can sayÉ

Don't forget this * might * only be the honeymoon period.

I had been warned that Petey was a quite the number with women and for the first month or two, he was quite sweet.
Once the honeymoon period was over though...I got to see the Petey everyone else had seen before.

Not saying it's going to happen with you, but do keep in mind that he might change a bit when he gets truly comfortable.
