Does anyone know how to take photos of birds flying in mid air so that they are clearer?

Neat picture! To "freeze" the wings, you need a faster shutter speed on the camera. What kind of camera are you using? If it's a point and shoot, you may be able to get it to do that by using a "sport mode" or by turning on the flash, but then you have to be sure the flash won't startle your bird too much. Basically what is happening is that the wings are moving while the image is being "recorded" so you need to make that "recording time" shorter.
