Awww, such pretty babies! Amos has some stress bars, the poor thing, but, with good care and proper diet, he will lose them on the next molt.

Also, are they both DNA'd males or are you just guessing their genders?

Pajarita I was going to ask the forum about those stress bars. and by the way Andy is the GCC. I was looking at a picture of a stressed out parrot and they showed the stress bars on the parrot. Andy has had them since I got him. As for the sex I thought about it and I felt that why stress them out even more just to know what sex they are I don't care. I am in love with them no matter what they are. Now if knowing the sex is really important, Will then I will go have them DNA'd. But with me he is just coming along so well, all I have to do is put my hand in his cage and he will step right up to come out. he likes his baths. and as for any stress over here I really have not put any kind of pressure on them at all. I let him out and he now sit on my shoulder and gabs my ear. trying to figure out how he can pull it off. LOL. Because I really can't think of anything that I am doing or not doing that would cause him stress.

No, no, it's nothing you have done or not done. Stress bars are formed when the feather is forming inside the keratin sheath (what we call a 'pin' feather) so the stress was way before you got him. Just wait for the molt, they will go away.

As to DNAing them, just wait until you take them to the vet for their initial exam and ask them to put a little bit of blood (they will need to take blood for their tests) in the little vial the internet companies that do DNA cheap send you.

So here we go more photo's. The first one you can see that I am using a different kind of rope for my perches. This rope doesn't have and hair sticking out. and their feet don't get caught in it.
