Yes, just the opposite of ducks and chickens which are classified as precocial. Kiwis are not parrots, they are ratites (like the ostrich and the rhea).

I continue to have difficulty posting pictures, but I guess my laptop was in a decent mood today and only gave me a short maze to go through. My photos are no where near as artistic and beautiful as Erithacus ....great photos there !

My Meyers was dna sexed so I know he is a male and my Red Belly showed she was female after her first moult.
