Third baby was born during the wee hours of the night on dec. 1st (last night).

The breeder was getting really worried, but all three babies hatched exactly 30 days after their egg had been laid (24 nov, 27 nov, 1 dec). She says the first two babies are mostly quiet, and last one is really loud compared to them, seeking attention. He keeps trying to get under his brother and / or sister, probably seeking warmth.

That's it for now, I'm expecting pictures soon, I will post them as soon as possible.

Wow, talk about a rapid change of events !

I just got a call from another Eclectus breeder I had talked to about a month ago. She had young babies and was not able to tell if they were males or females yet. She had taken my number and said she would call me back. I had forgotten about it, thinking she did not want to choose me as a family because I had told her about all my problems with my allergies and the house and so on.

Well, turns out she has 2 males, and they are Red-Sided, my favorite ! And they would be ready at the end of december ! That would be my Christmas gift !

And I have hired 2 contractors to do the work in my house, and everything will be completed on december 17th. Which means I would be ready in time for the new Ekkie...

I have to think about it for a while, but it is very tempting to go with this breeder. Oh, and one more plus, she is only 2 hours away, which means I can go pick up the bird myself, no shipping !

I'm so excited ! :danicing: :eclectus:

oooo - what a great Christmas gift that would be!! I'm all for careful consideration - what would be the down-side of going w/this closer breeder?
